From the Fire Chief:
The Sadorus Fire Protection District would
like to take this opportunity to let you know what we are and what
we do. Our calls range from fire, medical, rescue, hazardous material,
and public assists.
We have an automatic joint response with Ivesdale as well as mutual
aid with all departments in Champaign and Piatt counties. As a benefit
to the community, Arrow [company] has placed a rural ambulance at
our station.
Our Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
are trained to start IV's, put in airways, use defibrillators and
administer some medications. To better respond to an emergency we
train two to four times a month and also test drive our trucks weekly
to ensure that they are always ready. We also participate ina number
of specialized training courses through out the state each year.
If you would llike
to be a part of our family, please contact Chief Carl Culkin at
(217) 598-2427.
