We are officially declaring a local disaster emergency under §30-3-7 for the village of Sadorus. This allows the Board to conduct emergency meetings when they have a physical quorum and expressly suspend the local 48-hour procedural requirement of §1-2-3 under §30-3-7(C) because compliance would hinder or delay necessary emergency action.
As the village administration coordinates emergency relief efforts, please continue to safely pile debris near the road without blocking the roadway, fire hydrants, or other obstructions.

STORM DAMAGE – TREE & BRUSH CLEANUP
The Village of Sadorus is aware of the significant tree damage throughout the community following today's severe storms.
For now, please do not place tree limbs or brush in the roadway and please do not burn storm debris.
Residents are encouraged to make arrangements for debris removal. Alternatively, you may begin moving fallen limbs and brush to the street-side edge of their property. Please keep all debris out of the roadway and drainage areas and away from fire hydrants, utility poles, mailboxes and other obstructions.
DO NOT approach, cut, or move any tree or limb that is touching or near a downed power line.
Please separate tree limbs and brush from other storm debris. Do not mix lumber, fencing, shingles, garbage, metal, furniture or other materials with tree debris.
The Village is currently determining arrangements to assist residents with the disposal of storm-related tree debris. We will post additional instructions as soon as those arrangements are finalized.
Please be patient with neighbors, emergency crews, and Village officials as we all assess the damage and work to clear public streets and other hazards.
Our first priority is public safety and keeping Village streets passable.
Thank you to everyone who is already helping their neighbors and looking out for one another.

📢 This is an important notification from Illinois American Water. Our crews will begin routine flushing of the water distribution system in your area July 22nd, 2026 through July 24th, 2026 to provide you with high-quality water service. Flushing in your area will occur between the hours of 7AM and 2PM. Flushing also allows us to test and maintain fire hydrants. When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. If discolored water occurs please also refrain from doing laundry during that time. In keeping with American Water’s focus on safety for both customers and employees, please do not approach our crews while they work. For more information or to see a map of the affected area please go to amwater.com/ilaw/alerts. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding while we undertake this necessary maintenance of the water system. 1-800-422-2782.📢‼️
